Biometric Time And Attendance System Solving Buddy Punching Problems for Enterprises

In a long of attendance history, workers’ attendance time point was taken by using Punch Cards. The employee put their cards into the punch card time clock and the time point were punched onto the card. Then in the late 20th century, time clocks started to move to a digital system where RFID and swipe cards were used. While practical at the time, there were some major flaws with these smart card attendance systems.

One of the most common issues with Punch Cards, RFID card and swipe cards can be buddy punching. If a co-worker is late, another co-worker can “buddy punch” them in by swiping the late employee’s punch card for them. This means that an employer may be paying an employee when they aren’t even there. Which may cause much loss for the enterprise owner.

To solve these issues, INJES Technology research and develop biometric fingerprint time clocks which can record employee time and attendance data accurately . These biometric time clock devices use the unique biometric features of the human fingerprint to identify employees. Workers just simply punches in and out with his or her fingerprint. The INJESfinger print time recorder then compare this fingerprint against the fingerprint templates stored in the database. Since it is impossible to forge data from finger print time clocks, there is no possibility of buddy punching.

The Component Of Fingerprint Identification System

With the development of high technology, fingerprint technologies are used in our life widely day by day. Today we are surrounded by good application of fingerprint recognition, such as smart phones, laptops, time and attendance, Fingerprint Access Control, fingerprint door locks.

Fingerprint Fundamental Principle:
A typical fingerprint identification system should include: Fingerprint Sensor feature extraction / matching module features Template Library application software. The fingerprint matching can be divided into two steps, the first is to be extracted fingerprint verification feature, then the fingerprint and the fingerprint template library templates similarity compared to determine whether the two fingerprint images from the same finger.
We can see that the core of the fingerprint identification accurate and efficient fingerprint analysis. Development of fingerprint identification technology is broadly divided into three collection methods: optical sensor, capacitive sensors, biological RF sensor.
1. Optical Sensor
Optical sensor recognition is the earlier fingerprint identification technology. Based on optical light emitting means, the finger incident and then reflected back into the machine to get the data, and compare the database to see if the same. Optical recognition can only reach the skin epidermis, and can not reach the dermis, but also by whether the finger clean surface greater impact. Optical sensor are used for Biometric Attendance System, employee time clock, fingerprint scanner etc.,it plays a very import role in biometric history.
2. Capacitive Sensor
Capacitive sensor identification using two capacitors mounted spaced, using fingerprint irregularities, connect or disconnect the two capacitors current finger over the fingerprint detection equipment to detect fingerprint data. Capacitive sensor requirements for a clean finger is still relatively high, and the sensor surface using a silicon material, more easily damaged. In a technical perspective, the supply of capacitive fingerprint recognition technology for Authentec, Validity, Finger Print Cards AB (FPC), etc., Authentec bought by Apple, Validity Synaptics has also been acquired. Capacitive fingerprint sensor is now the most common technique.
3. Biological RF Sensor
RF Micro sensors emit radio frequency signals through sensors, penetrating finger lines in the epidermis layer to get access to information. This approach to cleanliness finger requirements are lower. RF is a relatively new technology solutions, RF capacitance is the way, but limited to patent issues.

Beginning To Know About Biometric Technology Today

Maybe you have seen biometric technology only in sci-fi movies, but do not know what the specification about them and how do they work. Today, injes.com tells you. With the revolution of technology, biometrics has smoothly ascended from the reel to the real world. So much so that it is no longer a hallmark of intelligence agencies anymore. Today, biometric security is very much a part of everyday life. Biometric access control is the common use around in our life.

Biometrics is the science and technology involved in the measurement and analysis of biological data, viz. fingerprints, eye retinas and irises, DNA, facial patterns, voice patterns, hand measurements etc. These are unique characteristics of the human body that differ from individual to individual. This uniqueness of the parameters has rendered wide-spread usage of biometrics as access control systems, apart from the usual identification, authentication and verification systems.

These days, biometric access control systems are also being used as a measure to record attendance of employees. This is of huge importance in sectors where employee wages depend on the number of hours they have worked. An example would be construction works where laborers are mostly paid on the basis of the number of hours they work. In such situations, biometric computer logons serve as an effective method to correctly calculate the number of work hours for each employee.

For such uses, fingerprint readers are most apt as fingerprints are easy to record. Also, fingerprints being highly unique in nature, there is very little room for machine error. With the help of a fingerprint reader a computer-based logon system can easily record the entry and exit timings of each worker and thereby help in correctly deciding the corresponding remunerations.

A more advanced system can be developed with the help of a fingerprint door lock. These systems usually require a combination of a fingerprint scan and a pre-assigned number (it can be an employee id in this case). These systems serve as excellent access control systems and can be easily modified to suit the needs of particular construction site. It can also serve as a measure to restrict unwanted entrants to the area of work and can help in avoiding uncalled for accidents.

With the growing popularity of fingerprint readers, more and more companies are launching new-age fingerprint scanners. Most of these have sensitive sensors that can automatically detect a new finger in the vicinity. Some even feature "live finger detection" functions that help in ruling out chances of forgery through fake fingers. The fingerprint readers usually come with a sturdy built and are capable of withstanding the rough environments usually faced at construction sites.

The use of fingerprint access control systems at construction sites is a cost-effective method of access control as well as attendance calculation. It not only saves manual labor and time for the process but also eliminates possibilities of manual error. As a result more and more constructors are opting for biometric computer logons at their site of work.

INJES is one of the market leaders in the development and implementation of non intrusive biometric technology using fingerprint scanner, iris recognition, signature, face and other biometric identification systems.
