In a long of attendance history, workers’ attendance time point was taken by using Punch Cards. The employee put their cards into the punch card time clock and the time point were punched onto the card. Then in the late 20th century, time clocks started to move to a digital system where RFID and swipe cards were used. While practical at the time, there were some major flaws with these smart card attendance systems.
One of the most common issues with Punch Cards, RFID card and swipe cards can be buddy punching. If a co-worker is late, another co-worker can “buddy punch” them in by swiping the late employee’s punch card for them. This means that an employer may be paying an employee when they aren’t even there. Which may cause much loss for the enterprise owner.
To solve these issues, INJES Technology research and develop biometric fingerprint time clocks which can record employee time and attendance data accurately . These biometric time clock devices use the unique biometric features of the human fingerprint to identify employees. Workers just simply punches in and out with his or her fingerprint. The INJESfinger print time recorder then compare this fingerprint against the fingerprint templates stored in the database. Since it is impossible to forge data from finger print time clocks, there is no possibility of buddy punching.
